'Satsuma'

Hybridized by Charles Black. The result of a cross between 'Creme de Cacao' and 'Cosmic Gold'. Note the lovely saturated color; satsuma orange at opening, then it changes to deep golden orange-yellow by the end of the day. Nice!! And, it has unusual foliage that looks like a deeply-crenated maple leaf. All in all, a winner!

'Voodoo Queen'

'Voodoo Queen' opens up a warm orange

and changes to a buttery yellow by afternoon!

Presto.....
change-o! It must be voodoo!

'Vodoo Queen' with the petaloid thing going on.

Reminds me of a windmill!

Welcome!

Welcome to the blog for our new club, the California Hibiscus Society. There are hibiscus clubs in Florida, Louisiana, Hawaii and Texas but nothing for the west coast, so this club will serve those of us living in California, Nevada, Arizona, Oregon, Washington and New Mexico. Maybe we will change the name to Pacific Hibiscus Society or Western Hibiscus Society or something like that...we'll see!
